Gold Star Father Khizr Khan Speaks
The ACLU of Massachusetts—a private, nonpartisan organization with more than 72,000 supporters across the Commonwealth and over 100,000 online activists is a state affiliate of the national ACLU. They defend the principles enshrined in the Massachusetts Declaration of Rights as well as the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.
The ACLU of Ma approached me to design the branding and marketing materials for their 2017 Bill of Rights Dinner. The art direction was strongly based on the Constitution of the United States, so the branding reflected that in the colors and bold fonts. The icon that I developed was Lady Liberty holding up the Constitution. This was to pay homage to the featured speaker, Gold Star Father Khizr Khan who famously held up his pocket copy of the Constitution when speaking about his son towards President Trump.
