Spin350 is excited to share one of our newest projects, the Pure Strategies Path to Product Sustainability Report, which was recently showcased at the annual Sustainable Brands Conference in San Diego.
For more than 15 years, Pure Strategies has helped forward-looking clients attain financial and strategic benefits by improving the sustainability of their organizations, products, and supply chains. In addition to providing technical services, Pure Strategies leads companies through strategic planning exercises and helps tackle on-the-ground implementation. Pure Strategies has extensive experience assisting both retailers and retail suppliers. Clients include: Walmart, The North Face, Annie’s Homegrown, RB, Rockline Industries, Radio Flyer, Seventh Generation, Oakhurst Dairy, Stonyfield Farm, and others.
Spin350’s Role in the Project
Pure Strategies approached Spin350 in search of a creative agency that could take their content and turn it into a strategically designed, aesthetically appealing piece. We took their client supplied content and created an information architecture that would translate into a multipage layout report. The Path to Product Sustainability is based on quantitative surveys of 100 global consumer product companies involved in product sustainability and qualitative interviews with heads, directors, and managers of sustainability at leading companies such as The Coca-Cola Company, Timberland, Seagate, RB, and Henkel.
Graphic Design and Printing
Spin350’s Senior Designers designed this report in a 10″x10″ layout that was 12-pages saddle-stitched. We worked closely with Pure Strategies to ensure that the content and infographics properly communicated the messaging that they wanted. The infographics aligned with the data that was being discussed and were found on most of the pages. We used big colors and strong typography to compliment the data heavy report. This method was implemented as one way to make the content flow smoother and be more digestible by the reader.
It was also very important to Pure Strategies that the printed version of this report utilized green sustainable printing techniques and materials. The paper stock that we chose is FSC Certified 100%
post-consumer fibre, EcoLogo and processed chlorine free. It is accredited and manufactured using biogas energy. The cover stock was 80lb cover satin Rolland Enviro100 Print. The interior pages were done on 80lb text satin Rolland Enviro100 Print.
More about Pure Strategie’s research methodology: Verdantix, an experienced market research firm, fielded the quantitative survey on behalf of Pure Strategies in Fall 2013. Pure Strategies conducted the qualitative interviews in February 2014.
